Where to start

Most men don’t come asking for a particular operation — they come with a symptom that is affecting their daily life. Choose the one closest to your situation.

Services in this section

Surgery is not always needed: some conditions are treated with medication, and stones up to a certain size pass on their own under a doctor’s supervision. That is why diagnosis comes first.

Why patients choose Ukraine

The honest reasons — no claims that it costs “several times less”
It is not the medicine that costs less but the overheads: rent and salaries are lower, while the equipment is the same — Karl Storz, Pentax
TURP and HoLEP (holmium laser enucleation) are international protocols, not a local invention
Elective urology with no waiting lists: the date is arranged around your schedule
From neighbouring countries, the clinic is a few hours’ journey overland
The clinic’s team communicates with international patients in English

Questions and answers

Is surgery always needed for prostate adenoma (BPH)?
No. In the early stages, medication helps and surgery can be postponed. Surgery is indicated not by the size of the gland itself but by how much it affects you: urinary retention, frequent night-time urination, residual urine in the bladder.
How does TURP differ from laser and other minimally invasive methods?
TURP is the classic resection through the urethra, proven over decades. Holmium laser enucleation (HoLEP) and water vapour therapy (Rezum) usually involve less blood loss and a shorter recovery, but cost more. The surgeon chooses the method based on the size of the gland and the patient’s condition.
Does a kidney stone always have to be broken up?
Not always. Stones up to 5–6 mm often pass on their own under a doctor’s supervision with supportive treatment. A procedure is needed if the stone is larger, stuck in the ureter or causing attacks of pain or infection.
How long will a trip for surgery take?
Elective urological procedures take 30–90 minutes, and recovery to normal activity usually takes 1–2 weeks. Exact timings depend on the method and are confirmed after an examination and tests.
