Prices in the “Ukraine” column come from MediUkraine’s partner clinics. The Czech Republic and Turkey columns show the lower bounds of prices published by clinics there (for Turkey, also the Turkish Dental Association’s recommended 2026 tariff), collected in August 2026 and converted to US dollars at the rate on the day of collection. A dash means we could not find a comparable published price. In any country, the final cost is set by the clinic after an examination.
Uroflowmetry records not just the fact of urination but how it progresses: the device continuously registers the flow of urine and builds a curve from these data. The computer system calculates the maximum and average flow rate, the voiding time and the total volume, and the urologist compares these values with each other and with the shape of the curve. This set of data distinguishes a mechanical obstruction to outflow from weakness of the bladder muscle, even though both conditions look the same from the outside: a weak stream.
Technically, it is simple. You stay alone in the room and pass urine into a collecting funnel with a sensor, as you would into an ordinary toilet: no catheters or other instruments are inserted into the urethra. The test takes a few minutes and needs no preparation other than a full bladder.
Based on the result, the urologist determines the nature of the urination problem and chooses a treatment approach. The method is used for benign prostatic hyperplasia, neurogenic bladder dysfunction, urethral strictures and other urological conditions. MediUkraine books the test at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod at a time that suits you.
Travel. Ukrainian airspace is closed, so there are no commercial flights. Uzhhorod lies right on the border with Slovakia and close to Hungary, so patients usually arrive overland from one of these two countries, by car, bus or train.
Visas. Citizens of the EU, the United Kingdom and the United States do not need a visa for short stays in Ukraine. Rules depend on your citizenship, so check your own before booking.
Safety, plainly. Ukraine is at war. Air raid alerts occur across the country, including in Uzhhorod, and an appointment can be interrupted by one. Several governments advise against travel to Ukraine, and while that advice stands, ordinary travel and medical insurance is often void — confirm your cover with your insurer before you commit to anything.
Language. MediUkraine handles correspondence, scheduling, the written treatment plan and the quote in English. The clinic's team communicates with international patients in English.
Payment. You pay the clinic directly. Our coordination service is free of charge for you.

The method is non-invasive: it measures the volume and rate of urination without touching the urethra. In Ukraine this test is ordered for both men and women with urination problems, and also to monitor the course of treatment. MediUkraine arranges it at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod, which has the appropriate equipment.
The standard test is done as an outpatient, without special preparation or discomfort: you pass urine naturally into a special device that records the urine flow curve. This reveals urinary tract obstruction, an underactive bladder detrusor and neurogenic voiding disorders. The result is ready a few minutes after the test.
The test is often combined with a comprehensive urodynamic study to assess the whole urinary system. If needed, the measurement is repeated in different body positions, as the readings may differ. Through MediUkraine you can book the test at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod, where the result is interpreted by a urologist.
After uroflowmetry no recovery is needed: you return to your usual activities straight away. There are no restrictions on physical activity, food or fluids, because the test involves no incisions and no instruments are inserted into the body. You can leave the room as soon as the device has recorded the readings.
If discomfort when passing urine persists for several days after the visit, drink more fluids and contact your doctor. MediUkraine passes on detailed aftercare instructions to patients when it coordinates the test at the partner clinic.
The result is ready the same day. A specialist interprets the readings: if the curve points to a problem, they will suggest the next steps in treatment straight away. If needed, a consultation with a urologist or a general practitioner is arranged to draw up an individual treatment plan.
Uroflowmetry measures the volume of urine passed per unit of time. The device records the flow rate in ml/s, both maximum and average, and the total voiding time. You pass urine naturally into a container with a sensor system that makes the recording.
Preparation is minimal: arrive with a full bladder, having not passed urine for 2–3 hours before the visit. The test itself takes 5–10 minutes and causes no pain or discomfort. The result is shown as a graph (flow curve), from which the doctor assesses the pattern and quality of urination.
Through MediUkraine you can have this test at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod and get a urologist's advice on whether you need it in your case.
Uroflowmetry in Ukraine costs significantly less than at Western European clinics and in the USA. In Europe and North America the same test costs EUR 150–300. The difference is explained by lower operating costs: staff salaries, equipment maintenance and premises rent. This does not affect the quality of the service.
At the same time, the diagnostic equipment at Ukrainian centres meets European standards. MediUkraine will tell you which urologists see patients at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod and what equipment it uses to diagnose urination problems.
Besides the saving, booking through MediUkraine gives you transparent pricing and a shorter wait. Before the test you get a detailed briefing: whether the curve can be assessed depends on correct preparation, so you will not need a repeat visit because of an uninformative result.
The safety of the test rests on two things: the method itself and properly working equipment. The test is non-invasive and painless, so it is suitable for both children and older people. The devices undergo regular calibration and maintenance.
MediUkraine's partner clinic prepares patients for the test in a consistent way. It uses devices with digital data recording, which reduces the risk of error in interpretation.
Through MediUkraine you can have this test as part of a comprehensive assessment of the urinary system, with transparent prices and confidentiality of your medical information.

📍 Uzhhorod, Ukraine
A multidisciplinary hospital in Uzhhorod, part of a network of medical facilities in western Ukraine: an outpatient clinic, a surgical centre covering 15 specialties and a 30-bed inpatient unit. Its 52 doctors include professors and PhDs; many operations are done as day surgery, with discharge after 1–2 days.
Uroflowmetry is a non-invasive urodynamic test that measures the rate and pattern of urine flow. You pass urine into a special device, which records the maximum and average flow rate, the volume and the shape of the flow curve. From these data the urologist assesses how the bladder and urethra are working and can see signs of obstruction to outflow or weakness of the bladder muscle.
The price is usually from USD 30, depending on the clinic, the class of equipment and whether interpretation by a doctor is included. Private centres often offer comprehensive urodynamic assessment as a package: ultrasound, urine flow measurement and a urologist's consultation.
Patients from most European countries and neighbouring states do not need a visa for a short-term medical visit. Citizens of other countries may need one under the current entry rules. If needed, the clinic will provide confirmation of your appointment.
The test is suitable for almost all patients who have:
• a weak urine stream
• frequent or difficult urination
• getting up at night to pass urine
• a feeling of incomplete emptying
• painful or interrupted urination
It is ordered when benign prostatic hyperplasia, urethral obstruction, neurogenic bladder, cystitis or prostatitis is suspected. There are no age restrictions: both children and older people have the test.
In addition to urine flow measurement, clinics offer:
• ultrasound of the bladder and prostate with measurement of residual urine
• comprehensive urodynamic studies
• cystoscopy
• laboratory tests (PSA, urinalysis, cultures)
Together they show the cause of urination problems and help choose the treatment that suits you.
No recovery is needed at all. After the test you return to normal life straight away, with no restrictions on physical activity, food or fluids.
No. The test does not affect:
• reproductive function
• hormonal balance
• potency
• prostate function
No instruments are inserted into the urethra, so the test does not injure tissue or cause discomfort.
