Oncology in Ukraine: Online Consultation and Treatment

This section covers oncology services, from an online consultation and diagnostic tests to surgery, chemotherapy and palliative care. One of the most common reasons people come here is a remote appointment with an oncologist: they need someone to look at their test results, scans or histology report and explain what the next step is.

Where to start

Patients rarely search for the name of a procedure. They search for what is worrying them. Choose the situation closest to yours.

What determines the approach and the price

What affects the extent of treatment and the cost
What the diagnostic tests showed — The extent of treatment is not decided without histology. A tumour biopsy (any site) costs from USD 41.
Tumour site and extent of surgery — Within the same service, the price depends on how much is removed: a partial gastrectomy costs from USD 760.
Anaesthesia and duration — Skin cancer removal is done under local anaesthesia and takes 20 to 60 minutes. Stomach surgery is done under general anaesthesia and takes 2 to 5 hours; brain tumour surgery takes 4 to 8 hours.
Appointment format — Reviewing documents and asking the doctor questions can be done remotely. Everything else is in person: the check-up is done on an outpatient basis, a biopsy is outpatient or involves a stay of up to 1 day, chemotherapy is given on an outpatient or inpatient basis depending on the regimen, and operations involve a hospital stay.

How much it costs in Ukraine

The prices in the table are starting prices (“from”) in US dollars, as set by the clinic. Differences between rows for the same service reflect the scope: surgery alone, surgery combined with chemotherapy, or treatment that includes diagnostics and aftercare. The final cost is confirmed after examination and histology, because until then the extent of treatment is not known.

Questions and answers

Can I consult an oncologist online?
Yes, this section includes a remote appointment with an oncologist. An initial online consultation costs from USD 18, a follow-up from USD 16, and a consultation with a review of your test results from USD 24.
What should I prepare for an online consultation?
Everything you already have: discharge summaries, test results, CT or MRI scans, the histology report. The more complete your documents, the more specific the conversation. If you have not had any tests yet, the doctor will advise where to start.
Can I discuss surgery online?
Remotely, the doctor can go through your existing reports, the possible surgical options and how to prepare. The examination, tests and the final decision on surgery take place in person; an online consultation does not replace them.
What does a cancer check-up include?
An extended check-up with CT/MRI and lab tests costs from USD 153.
Is palliative care available for people with cancer?
Yes, it is a separate service in this section. Pain relief is tailored to each patient.
How much does surgery cost if chemotherapy is also needed?
These are two separate items in the clinic’s published prices. For colon cancer, for example, a partial colectomy costs from USD 817, while chemotherapy is priced separately.
