About the doctor

Andrii Arkatov is a urologist and andrologist and a Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD). He has worked in medicine since 1988: after graduating from Kharkiv Medical Institute he worked as a urologist and later as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Urology and Andrology of Kharkiv National Medical University. In 1996 he defended his Candidate of Sciences thesis in urology at the Institute of Urology and Nephrology in Kyiv.

His main areas are male reproductive health and reconstructive urology: microsurgery for male infertility, procedures for obstructive azoospermia, urethroplasty after injuries and strictures, and surgical treatment of erectile dysfunction, including penile prosthesis implantation. A separate area is diseases of the prostate and the scrotal organs.

He sees patients at the EXPERT hospital in Uzhhorod. At the consultation he reviews your test results and explains the available options, both surgical and conservative. The treatment plan and its cost are set after the examination; a MediUkraine coordinator will help you book, agree the date and support you until your treatment is complete.

Frequently asked questions

What problems do people see a urologist-andrologist about?+

Most often these are prostate diseases, urinary problems, male infertility, erectile dysfunction and ejaculatory disorders, varicocele and hydrocele, the after-effects of injuries, and urethral strictures. The doctor decides on the exact tests at the consultation, based on your symptoms and the results of previous examinations.

How do I book a consultation with Dr Arkatov?+

Leave a request on MediUkraine: a coordinator will reply within 24 hours, agree a convenient appointment date at the EXPERT hospital in Uzhhorod and prepare a cost estimate. The coordination service is free — you pay only for the consultation and treatment, directly to the clinic.

How much does a consultation cost?+

An initial urology consultation at EXPERT costs from UAH 800. The doctor sets the cost of an operation or procedure after the examination and tests: it depends on the diagnosis, the chosen technique and, for prosthesis implantation, the cost of the implant.

Can I talk to the doctor online before I travel?+

Yes. For patients from other cities and from abroad, MediUkraine arranges an online consultation with the doctor before the trip, so that you know in advance which tests are needed, the provisional treatment plan and how long you will need to stay in Ukraine.

What documents and test results should I bring to the first consultation?+

Bring any discharge summaries, ultrasound and lab results and records of previous operations, plus a list of the medicines you take. If you have not had any tests, the doctor will order the necessary ones at the appointment; some of them (ultrasound, lab tests) can be done at the clinic on the same day.
