Prices in the “Ukraine” column come from MediUkraine’s partner clinics. The Czech Republic and Turkey columns show the lower bounds of prices published by clinics there (for Turkey, also the Turkish Dental Association’s recommended 2026 tariff), collected in August 2026 and converted to US dollars at the rate on the day of collection. A dash means we could not find a comparable published price. In any country, the final cost is set by the clinic after an examination.
A medical certificate for an educational institution is not just a doctor's signature but a summary of data: it records the results of the examination, test results, specialists' conclusions and the child's current state of health. The institution needs these records to know about any restrictions for the child from day one.
The examination starts with a paediatrician; under the standard scheme the child is also seen by a dermatologist and an ENT specialist, has general blood and urine tests, and an ECG is ordered if indicated. Depending on the child's age and the requirements of the particular institution, the list of consultations may be extended. The logic is simple: to find risk factors that could make it harder for the child to settle into a group before their first day at kindergarten or school.
Once all the examinations are complete, the data are transferred to the official form, which is accepted by all educational institutions in Ukraine. Preparation takes 3–5 working days, depending on the scope of tests.
MediUkraine takes care of organising the process: booking appointments, coordinating with the clinic and keeping track of when the document will be issued.
Travel. Ukrainian airspace is closed, so there are no commercial flights. Uzhhorod lies right on the border with Slovakia and close to Hungary, so patients usually arrive overland from one of these two countries, by car, bus or train.
Visas. Citizens of the EU, the United Kingdom and the United States do not need a visa for short stays in Ukraine. Rules depend on your citizenship, so check your own before booking.
Safety, plainly. Ukraine is at war. Air raid alerts occur across the country, including in Uzhhorod, and an appointment can be interrupted by one. Several governments advise against travel to Ukraine, and while that advice stands, ordinary travel and medical insurance is often void — confirm your cover with your insurer before you commit to anything.
Language. MediUkraine handles correspondence, scheduling, the written treatment plan and the quote in English. The clinic's team communicates with international patients in English.
Payment. You pay the clinic directly. Our coordination service is free of charge for you.

The document for a kindergarten or school is issued after a comprehensive examination of the child by a paediatrician or family doctor. MediUkraine arranges the examination at the partner clinic in Uzhhorod, whose facilities allow all the necessary examinations to be completed in one place, without travelling between addresses.
The standard scheme is as follows: an initial examination by the doctor, a medical history and a check of vaccinations against the immunisation schedule. Then, if needed, examinations by specialists: an ophthalmologist, an ENT specialist, a neurologist and an orthopaedist. It is at this stage that contraindications to attending an educational institution are identified and chronic conditions that have so far gone untreated are taken in hand.
The laboratory part consists of tests for parasites and infectious diseases. MediUkraine keeps track of test deadlines and results, so that parents can submit the documents to the institution on time. In total the process takes 3–5 working days.
After an illness or a medical procedure, a child usually needs time to get back to their usual routine of learning and physical activity. A medical certificate for an educational institution records the doctor's recommendations on restrictions and on how the child should return to the group. With these notes, teachers can provide safe conditions for recovery and prevent complications.
Every child recovers at their own pace, depending on the nature of the illness, the length of treatment and their general health. In the certificate the doctor sets out specific recommendations: limits on physical activity, PE in a special group, daily routine or dietary needs. With these instructions, the carer or teacher can follow the child's progress and knows when it is time to see a doctor again.
MediUkraine arranges the document without unnecessary delays: we coordinate with the healthcare facility where the child was treated and make sure the certificate is issued in the format that kindergartens and schools expect. Write to our specialists, and we will book a convenient appointment at the partner clinic.
A medical certificate for an educational institution confirms the child's state of health and readiness to attend a pre-school or general education institution. In Ukraine it is issued based on a medical examination, and its key element is the paediatrician's conclusion that there are no contraindications to being in a group.
It all starts with an initial appointment with a paediatrician: the doctor takes a medical history, carries out a physical examination and assesses the child's immunisation status. If needed, consultations with specialists (an ophthalmologist, an ENT specialist, a neurologist) and laboratory tests are added. All results are entered on the document form approved by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
The certificate is issued in two copies: one stays with the institution and the other with the parents. It usually takes 3–5 working days from the completion of the examinations to the finished document.
What makes up the difference in price
Medical services in Ukraine cost noticeably less than in Europe and North America, while maintaining a proper standard of quality. The difference comes from the cost of running healthcare facilities, medical staff pay and administrative expenses. For a family, this means the certificate for kindergarten or school can be obtained without a noticeable strain on the budget.
MediUkraine puts your family in touch with a qualified doctor and books the appointment without intermediary agencies, so there are no commission mark-ups on the bill. The process takes 1–3 days, and the price remains affordable for most families.
You receive a full medical consultation, not a formal stamp on a form: with the paediatrician's conclusion and recommendations that apply specifically to your child.
How quality and confidentiality are ensured
Certificates for educational institutions are issued based on an examination of the child by doctors of the relevant specialities. MediUkraine refers parents to the partner clinic, which complies with current healthcare regulations. Examination data are kept confidential, as required by the law on personal data protection and medical confidentiality.
The doctors at MediUkraine's partner clinic hold the appropriate certificates and licences from the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Before the document is issued, vaccinations, physical development, neurological and psychological development, vision and hearing are checked, which is exactly what educational institutions require.
The procedure is as follows: an initial appointment with a paediatrician and, if needed, consultations with specialists and laboratory tests. MediUkraine books the appointments, explains the stages of the examination to parents and makes sure the completed documents for kindergarten or school are in your hands on time.

📍 Uzhhorod, Ukraine
A multidisciplinary hospital in Uzhhorod, part of a network of medical facilities in western Ukraine: an outpatient clinic, a surgical centre covering 15 specialties and a 30-bed inpatient unit. Its 52 doctors include professors and PhDs; many operations are done as day surgery, with discharge after 1–2 days.
It is an official document confirming that a child is healthy, has no infectious diseases and can attend an educational institution. It is issued by a paediatrician or family doctor after an examination.
The cost depends on the type of healthcare provider: at state outpatient clinics the certificate is free of charge, while at private clinics the price is made up of doctors' consultations, tests and how urgently the certificate is needed.
As a rule, the document is issued every year before the start of the school year or after a child has been absent from school or kindergarten for a long time because of illness.
Your child should get a good night's sleep, have a light breakfast and bring all available medical documents: the vaccination record, previous certificates and test results. With these, the examination will be quicker.
Yes, after recovery the doctor must confirm that the child is healthy and can return to the group without risk to other children.
Usually a paediatrician, an ophthalmologist, an ENT specialist, a neurologist, a surgeon and a dentist. For schoolchildren, vision, posture, weight and height are also checked.
The timing depends on how fully the child has recovered. Acute respiratory infections, gastrointestinal upsets, skin rashes and inflammatory conditions usually resolve completely, and their acute phase typically lasts 5–14 days, after which the child can return to kindergarten or school. Permission is given by the treating doctor, who assesses the child's health, and this conclusion goes into the medical certificate. Parents usually collect the completed form a few working days after the examinations are finished.
When you arrange it through MediUkraine, we act as an intermediary with the clinic and help you gather the documents, so once your child has recovered the certificate is issued faster, in line with the current requirements of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. The exception is chronic conditions that need long-term follow-up and do not resolve completely: in such cases the document is issued based on the doctor's clearance during remission or when the condition is stable.
