Prices in the “Ukraine” column come from MediUkraine’s partner clinics. The Czech Republic and Turkey columns show the lower bounds of prices published by clinics there (for Turkey, also the Turkish Dental Association’s recommended 2026 tariff), collected in August 2026 and converted to US dollars at the rate on the day of collection. A dash means we could not find a comparable published price. In any country, the final cost is set by the clinic after an examination.
The result rests on two parts of the nose, internal and external, and the surgeon works on both. Inside, these are the septum, the turbinates and the nasal valves, which determine how freely air passes through the nasal passages; outside, it is the bone and cartilage framework of the bridge and tip, which defines the facial profile. The scope of surgery is planned according to anatomy, the patient's age and functional measurements: for some, straightening the septum is enough; for others, the supporting structures have to be rebuilt after an injury.
The second feature of the technique is low trauma and fast recovery. With an endoscopic or closed approach the surgeon works precisely and preserves healthy tissue, so there is less swelling, the risk of complications is lower, and patients return to their normal routine within 1–2 weeks.
During the operation the surgeon performs correction of the nasal septum, reduction of the turbinates or reshaping of the nose, depending on the indications. In a combined procedure, difficulty breathing is resolved and the desired aesthetic result is achieved under a single anaesthetic. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, often as a day case, without a long hospital stay.
Complete healing takes about a month, while nasal breathing returns to normal sooner, in roughly 10–14 days. The next step for you is a consultation with a surgeon, with a CT scan of the sinuses and an endoscopic examination: these results determine whether surgery is needed and to what extent.
Travel. Ukrainian airspace is closed, so there are no commercial flights. Uzhhorod lies right on the border with Slovakia and close to Hungary, so patients usually arrive overland from one of these two countries, by car, bus or train.
Visas. Citizens of the EU, the United Kingdom and the United States do not need a visa for short stays in Ukraine. Rules depend on your citizenship, so check your own before booking.
Safety, plainly. Ukraine is at war. Air raid alerts occur across the country, including in Uzhhorod, and an appointment can be interrupted by one. Several governments advise against travel to Ukraine, and while that advice stands, ordinary travel and medical insurance is often void — confirm your cover with your insurer before you commit to anything.
Language. MediUkraine handles correspondence, scheduling, the written treatment plan and the quote in English. The clinic's team communicates with international patients in English.
Payment. You pay the clinic directly. Our coordination service is free of charge for you.

The technique of rhinoplasty with functional correction is chosen individually, based on the anatomy of the nose, your age, any injuries, septal deviation or aesthetic wishes. The main options are aesthetic rhinoplasty, reconstructive rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty. In complex cases approaches are combined to bring form and function into line.
A common choice is septorhinoplasty: correction of the nasal septum (septoplasty) together with correction of the external shape of the nose. The surgeon returns the septum to the correct position, improving airflow through the nasal passages and free breathing, and at the same time creates balanced facial proportions, without abrupt changes or an artificial look.
Patients with more complex conditions, after injuries or unsuccessful previous operations, undergo reconstructive rhinoplasty. Cartilage or bone grafts may be needed here to restore the framework of the nose. Endoscopic technology gives the surgeon a precise view of the operating area, so there is less tissue trauma.
Aesthetic rhinoplasty stands apart: it changes the shape without affecting function. However, surgeons more often combine the aesthetic and medical approaches, because free breathing is the basis of comfort and quality of life. A combined procedure corrects the deviation, relieves congestion and gives the nose a natural shape in one go.
In the first days after the operation you may have slight swelling, a blocked nose or mild discomfort; this is the body's natural reaction to surgery. Breathing through the nose gradually returns to normal over 1–2 weeks, and this is the measure the surgeon uses to judge whether recovery is going to plan.
Avoid bending over, physical exertion and sudden movements in the first days after the operation. It is better to sleep with your head raised, as this reduces swelling. Do not remove the dressing yourself or touch the stitches: all procedures are carried out by the doctor at check-ups.
Return to work depends on the type of operation and its scope. Usually, after non-invasive correction patients go back to the office after 5–7 days, and after full rhinoplasty after 2–3 weeks. The final decision on resuming physical activity is made by the surgeon after an examination.
Stay lightly active, drink enough water, and until you are fully healed avoid overheating, saunas, sport and alcohol. After the stitches are removed, follow the doctor's recommendations on caring for the skin and the nasal lining. If bleeding, pain or difficulty breathing occur, contact the clinic immediately for an examination.
Rhinoplasty with functional correction is not only about appearance but also about full nasal breathing. For patients with a deviated septum, the effects of injuries or chronic congestion, it is important to choose a technique that combines an aesthetic and a medical effect: septorhinoplasty and combined surgery correct the shape of the nose and restore free airflow at the same time.
The method is chosen individually. Before the operation the doctor carries out detailed diagnostics: a CT scan, an endoscopic examination and an assessment of the septum, valves and nasal lining. These data show the real cause of the breathing difficulty, so the correction can be planned safely. If you have chronic inflammation, the doctor prescribes treatment before the operation.
For some patients, with a slight septal deviation or purely aesthetic wishes, the doctor may advise a conservative route: physiotherapy or medication. The final decision on surgery is made after tests and a consultation with an ENT surgeon.
When planning rhinoplasty with functional correction, count not only the cost of the operation itself but also the associated expenses: consultations, diagnostics, anaesthesia, accommodation and post-operative supervision. At most Ukrainian clinics the full cycle, from tests to rehabilitation, takes place at one centre, and this makes treatment noticeably cheaper than in EU countries or Turkey.
Why are prices lower in Ukraine? First, the cost of medical services is lower: salaries, rent and consumables. Second, competition among private clinics encourages transparent packages without hidden costs. Third, low-trauma techniques and a short hospital stay in themselves reduce the total bill.
At the same time, this does not come at the expense of safety: surgeons work according to international protocols and use endoscopic techniques and high-quality anaesthesia. Sterility and infection control at clinics are regulated, and patients are supported until full recovery.
Safety depends above all on the clinic and the surgeon. The partner clinic in Uzhhorod follows the principles of sterility and infection control, and provide full anaesthetic and post-operative support. Rhinoplasty with functional correction is performed by experienced ENT surgeons and plastic surgeons using endoscopic techniques and high-precision equipment.
Operations take place in specialised centres with equipped operating theatres, where you go through the full cycle, from consultation and diagnostics to post-operative monitoring. Low-trauma techniques reduce the risk of complications, and recovery is usually predictable and comfortable.
When choosing a clinic, look at the surgeon's experience, the number of operations performed, the medical centre's certification and patient reviews. The MediUkraine platform selects vetted specialists, shows the treatment conditions and prepares a transparent quote with no hidden payments.

📍 Uzhhorod, Ukraine
A multidisciplinary hospital in Uzhhorod, part of a network of medical facilities in western Ukraine: an outpatient clinic, a surgical centre covering 15 specialties and a 30-bed inpatient unit. Its 52 doctors include professors and PhDs; many operations are done as day surgery, with discharge after 1–2 days.
It is a surgical operation aimed not only at improving the shape of the nose but also at restoring full nasal breathing. During the operation the doctor can correct a deviated septum, reduce enlarged turbinates or correct the effects of injuries.
The cost depends on the complexity of the case, the scope of correction and the clinic. On average, the price in Ukraine starts from USD 1,263, which is considerably lower than in EU countries. Check whether the amount includes anaesthesia, consumables and check-ups.
Most patients from European countries, the UK, Israel and Canada do not need a visa. Citizens of other countries should check the visa requirements for their country before planning the trip.
Candidates are patients with difficulty breathing, a deviated septum, post-traumatic deformities or aesthetic concerns about the shape of the nose. The final decision is made by the surgeon after a consultation and tests (CT, endoscopy, photo assessment).
Depending on the indications, open or closed rhinoplasty, endoscopic septoplasty, and laser or ultrasonic correction are used. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia, and the shape is planned in advance.
The main recovery takes 7–14 days, and complete healing about a month. As early as 10 days after surgery, patients return to normal life. Swelling and bruising subside gradually, and nasal breathing returns to normal.
On the contrary: functional correction improves nasal breathing, reduces snoring, and can relieve congestion and headaches. Once the nasal lining has healed, the sense of smell usually returns to normal.
